NayKid In Colorado - Lux and White Dominate Pueblo Double Race Weekend

PUEBLO, Col., April 20, 2004 Fresh off a sweep of the podiums at the first two races of the year, NayKid Racing kept a stranglehold on the T1 class of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) this weekend at Pueblo (Colorado) Motorsports Park. The trio of KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Chevrolet Corvettes came to Colorado looking for serious competition to see how they stack-up running KUMHO Tire's V700 series racing rubber against the latest from Hoosier and Goodyear. At the last event, the team was able to run the new, faster V710 tire, but KUMHO Tire has pulled that product from SCCA Competition. While KUMHO Tire resolves a minor certification issue, NayKid is back on the Victoracer KUMHO Tires. At the end of the weekend, the white Z06 Vette driven by Scotty B. White, (Puyallup, Wash.) and the red Corvette of Cindi Lux (Aloha, Or.) had each taken a pole position and victory. Teammate Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) continued with an excellent rookie season.White, last year's SCCA Southern Pacific Division and Pro Solo and Solo II champion, won both Saturday's overall pole position and race victory. His unrelenting drive in the race left his teammate Lux to duke it out with the former Acura and Oldsmobile works' driver Bob Schaeder. At the end, Lux finished in a close third position. Sunday brought a reversal of position but not fortune for NayKid Racing. After an evening of fighting flu-like symptoms, Lux, the 2003 SCCA T1 Northern Pacific Division and Oregon National Driver of the Year, rallied to a new track qualifying record in her No. 78 Suburban Z06 Chevrolet. A flawless drive produced her first victory of the year in Sunday's race. White had the duty of battling it out with Schaeder on Sunday. The battle was fierce and relentless as White finished in the third-spot. The top-three cars were all running under the lap record during the race. Scotty B. White: “Holy shiznit! I've got to admit, we've been so focused on how awesome the new V710 is, I was a bit apprehensive about going to a track we've never seen before to run against one of the best drivers in the country without it! But it was un-freekin-believable! I forgot how good our ol' friend the Victoracer is! We owned that place by the time the weekend was over! GO NAYKID! Cindi and Ryan stepped up and kicked sand in those guy's faces at their home track. I mean c'mon, new qualifying & race lap record, pole & win both days, I am so proud of this whole team I can't stand it!”Cindi Lux: “I think this weekend shows two things. First, KUMHO Tires builds the best tire there is out there. Think about it it really doesn't matter which tire we run on, they all can produce top results! We know, as a team, that whatever KUMHO Tire we're on, we have the tools to do our job and that's to win. We were on rails! Secondly, this NayKid Racing team can overcome anything! A couple of days ago there were a lot of unknowns about the setup on the Suburban Chevrolet Corvette and this weekend we came together in championship style and made a statement! It just took me a little longer this year to grab my first win. But we are back on track.”To learn more about NayKid Racing, please visit www.NayKidRacing.com.
