NayKid June Sprints Come to Road America
ELKHART LAKE, Wisc., June 18, 2004 NayKid Racing will face its biggest challenge of the 2004 Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 season this weekend here at Road America. The June Sprints, at the beautiful, tree-lined Elkhart Lake, Wisc. track, is traditionally the biggest gathering of top SCCA competition from around the country prior to the season-ending National Championship Runoffs presented by Kohler in September. As such, the event is a dress rehearsal for NayKid Racing who has dominated events around the country in the modified, street-stock T1 class in their three identically prepared 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06s riding on KUMHO Tires. The KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust team of Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.), Cindi Lux (Aloha, Or.) and Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) has won the pole and taken the race win in each of the events the team has entered to this point in 2004. The 4.48-mile, 12-turn natural terrain road course and national competition promises to give the NayKid Racing team, of Puyallup, Wash., its best reference point for where it stands against the strongest T1 cars in America.White, who won the 2003 T1 title in the Southern Pacific SCCA Division, as well as the '03 SCCA Pro Solo and Solo II class Championships, leads the team with five race wins, seven pole positions, three track records and three other podium finishes. Lux, the 2003 SCCA T1 Northern Pacific Division and Oregon National Driver of the Year as well as 1999 ALMS Women's Global GT Series champion, is pushing White hard with three victories on her side with one pole- two new track records- and five second places. Scotty B. White: “YEE-HAW, BABY! This track is a hoot, nothin' but fast corners and lotsa wide open track and hard on the brakes. It will separate drivers from the rest. I love this track! I think the toughest competition here comes from under the NayKid tent, Cindi is getting faster every race and our KUMHO's just keep diggin'.”Cindi Lux: “Last year's June Sprints was bittersweet. Scotty qualified on the pole with a new lap record but retired from the race. I led part of the race but also had to retire with a mechanical problem. So let's just say we have something to settle up on! Hopefully this year we will have a better outcomeI am so ready for this race, I cannot stand it!" NayKid Racing won 11 of 13 T1 races entered in 2003, earned 15 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and set six track records. Since its creation in 1998, NayKid has earned six SCCA division T1 titles, as well as five SCCA Pro Solo Championships and seven Solo II titles. The team made history at Mosport in 1999 becoming the first Corvette team to win a SPEED World Challenge GT race. White finished as runner-up in Rookie of the Year honors that same year. Over the course of his two season participation in SPEED World Challenge GT, White finished in the top-10, an amazing 78% of the time!To learn more about NayKid Racing, please visit www.NayKidRacing.com. ###
