NayKid On Top Again Lux Makes History

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc., June 21, 2004 NayKid Racing brought its KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Corvette Z06s to Road America to size itself up to the best competition in North America. What they found was what they have found at every stop this season, the Puyallup, Washington team is their own strongest competition. In the end, Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) became the only the second woman in the 49-year history of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) June Sprints to win the event. She outran the ultimate T1 class competition, her own teammate Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.), into the first corner of the first lap. And, even with a late race caution that forced a two-lap runoff to the checkered flag, Lux kept White nipping at her CORSA Exhaust crossing the finish line only .647 seconds in front to add her page to the history of the event. Cindi Lux: “I told the guys before this started that we better buckle our seatbelts extra tight. It's nice for NayKid to come in first and second. Scotty still amazes me in qualifying. He really laid one down that none of us could get close to. It was a great showing for KUMHO, their tires are truly the best or we wouldn't be having this tremendous success. It was an awesome weekend. To finish one-two was a great statement for the team, especially after last year when we left here with two DNFs. One more lap would have given us a great team battle but it all looks the same in the record books. As a team we had a pretty dominating weekend but we had our struggles too. We had to fight for it, and that makes it pretty sweet. In the end it was all the same, NayKid on top!” Scotty B. White: “The NayKid Racing destruction tour continues. We're coming to your town and we want your pole, your track record and your checkered flag; so sit down, shut-up and relax we'll be gone tomorrow. No seriously, it has been fun and the competition at the sprints was some of the best we've seen this season. On the restart I was fourth with two lap cars between myself and third and we managed a charge to second. Everybody at NayKid worked together as a team. When you get to this track it will really show your weakness and my car was nowhere on Friday. The NayKid crew jacked-up the radiator cap and replaced the car underneath for me. We rolled out Saturday and were on it. It was fun to finally to get some competition and even more fun to come out on top.” To learn more about NayKid Racing, please visit www.NayKidRacing.com.
