Petersen/ White Lightning to Give Tours of Team Transporter at Mosport

BOWMANVILLE, Ont., Can., Aug. 5, 2004 � In celebration of the Petersen Motorsports/ White Lightning Racing transporter's storied travels in recent months, the 53' High Tech trailer will be opened to the public as part of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) TECHTalk feature. Tours will be held in the Mosport International Raceway paddock from 11 am to 11:30 am (local time) on Saturday, Aug. 7. The tours of the team's “home away from Vegas” will be given by ALMS GT race winners and drivers of the No. 31 Westward Ho Casino/ MMPIE/ PAWS/ Michelin Porsche 911 GT3 RSR David Murry (Cumming, Ga.) and Craig Stanton (Long Beach, Calif.). Those involved in the TECHTalk tour will see how the team carries everything it needs to maintain the 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning GT class Porsche away from the team's Las Vegas race shop. Visitors will also be given the opportunity for autographs and to ask questions of Murry and Stanton about the transporter, the team's Michelin-tire shod Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and more. The long journey for the Petersen/ White Lightning hauler from Las Vegas in March to Mosport this weekend has covered 12,125 miles in five countries and two continents! Stop-overs coming to Mosport have included Sebring, Fla., Le Mans, France, Weissach, Germany, Spain, New Jersey, Sonoma Calif. and Portland, Ore.!The Toronto Grand Prix of Mosport can be seen Sunday, August 8th on CBS at 1 pm (EDT).
