Jimmy Kite and Royal Purple Lubricants Reunite For Texas NASCAR Truck Race

FORT WORTH, Tex., June 7, 2005 MRD Motorsports owner Dave Malcolmson (Largo, Fla.) reached into the archives to help revive a long-standing relationship for driver Jimmy Kite (Stockbridge, Ga.) at this weekend's Chex 400 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). In an announcement made in Texas today, Malcolmson revealed that Royal Purple Lubricants would join the team for the June 10th race under the lights. In addition to Royal Purple decorating the hood of the No. 06 MRD Chevrolet Silverado, XXtreme Group, LLC will also join the Concord, N.C. race team on the 1.5-mile Fort Worth-area oval for the event. It was XXtreme Group, a leading supplier of services to the oil industry, who brought all three parties together for the night race in the home state of the two companies.Kite, who started his fifth Indianapolis 500 two weeks ago, became most closely linked with the Porter, Texas-based Royal Purple during his early Indy car and stock car career. However, the relationship with the synthetic oil company reaches back into his early sprint and United States Auto Club (USAC) career. It is the image of the purple and neon yellow Royal Purple Indy car and ARCA stock car that Kite piloted in early 1998 that many fans still relate to the young driver. Royal Purple Lubricants is a Porter, Texas-based performance lubricant company that manufactures performance lubricants for the Industrial and Automotive marketplace. Royal Purple has won numerous championships in watercraft, motorcycle and auto racing. Royal Purple's line of lubricants can be found in Napa, Pep Boys and O'Reilly automotive stores nationwide. It may have been a long time since I last had it on my uniform but I've always kept it in my street cars. I can honestly say it is something I really believe in. To have Royal Purple and XXtreme come together to make this deal happen is great. It's even better that we get to race right here in Texas where both companies are from. I know we'll have a lot of support from the stands this weekend.”To learn more about Jimmy Kite, please visit www.JimmyKite.com. For the Jimmy Kite Fan Club, log-on to www.JimmyKiteFans.com.
