NayKid Racing Fastest at Runoffs, Ready to Strike with Two Vipers in Top-Four
LEXINGTON, Ohio, September 22, 2005 NayKid Racing continued to pile accolades onto the Dodge Viper SRT10 today in qualifying for the SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kohler. Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) won the pole position for tomorrow's Touring One (T1) class race in the No. 3 KUMHO Tires/ Woodhouse.com Dodge Viper SRT10 with a Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course track record for the class. It marked the first T1 class pole position at the Sports Car Club of America's (SCCA) National Championship for the Dodge Viper SRT10. White's lap of one minute, 32.030 seconds, broke a three-year old string of pole positions held by GM factory driver John Heinricy. Heinricy would fall just .362 seconds behind White. Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) brought the second NayKid Racing Viper SRT10, the No. 78 KUMHO Tires/ Woodhouse Auto Family entry, across the line fourth quickest with a lap of 1:33.234 of the 2.258-mile circuit. “That was the hardest lap that hot rod has ever run,” White commented as he reviewed the record lap. “I came out just behind Heinricy on my out lap and I couldn't have asked for a better spot. I tucked in right behind him and held on. I chased him all the way around the track close enough but not too close in case he made a mistake. He bobbled a little on the last two corners and that was just enough to cost him the pole position. This'll be a heckuva battle tomorrow. I can't wait!”NayKid Racing's third driver, Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.), placed the No. 75 24th in the 29 car T1 grid with a lap of 1:37.347. The Runoffs pole position adds to a series of firsts that NayKid Racing, Dodge Motorsports, the SRT Division of DaimlerChrysler, Mopar Performance Parts and Lux Performance Group LLC have earned in the Dodge Viper SRT10 together. Lux and White each earned class titles in their division Lux in the Northern Pacific Division (NorPac), White in the Southern Pacific Division (SoPac) in their first season of racing the formidable V10-powered machine.
