Lux Performance Opens Doors to SRT Club on February 23

Local Racers Invite Dodge SRT Fans to Visit World Challenge Viper Shop * *CORNELIUS, Ore., February 19, 2008 – Lux Performance Group, LLC of Cornelius, Ore. will host its Second Annual SRT/Dodge Open House on Saturday, February 23. The event is a celebration of everything that is “Street, Racing and Technology” by Chrysler, North America’s premier performance manufacturer. The Open House invites all Northwest owners and fans of SRT-tuned vehicles to visit the Lux Performance Group headquarters at 503 N. 10th Avenue in Cornelius. Lux Performance Group is the leading vehicle dynamics and engineering firm in the Northwest. Among their motorsports clients is NayKid Racing, the second year Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) World Challenge GT team headed by multi-time motorsports champion Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.). Lux Performance Group has prepared and maintained the No. 2 and No. 3 Dodge Vipers of NayKid Racing since 2005; first with the road-based Dodge Viper SRT10 in the T1 class of SCCA Club Racing then moving to the professional ranks of World Challenge in 2007 with the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe. Lux Performance also works with several other local and regional racers.

In only its second year, the Open House has become firmly affixed to the schedule for the Northwest SRT Club. The SRT Club seeks out opportunities to discuss SRT vehicles ranging from America’s premier supercar, the Dodge Viper SRT10, to the Dodge Caliber SRT4- the hottest four-cylinder on the market- and North America’s fastest SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. The 2007 SRT Open House attracted over 30 guests.
Lux Performance will open its doors from 10 AM to 3 PM (PT) for a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to prepare a Dodge Viper Competition Coupe, bench racing and tuner talk. Owner/Driver Cindi Lux and Owner/Crew Chief/Head Engineer Fred Lux (Aloha, Ore.) will be on site to discuss SRT performance machines including the No. 2 Dodge/Mintex Brakes/MOMO Dodge Viper Comp. Coupe.
Highlighting the day-long visit will be four free clinics led by Fred and Cindi Lux. The highly sought-after speakers will discuss performance preparation and maintenance for track day enthusiasts, do the ground school for a March 7 track day at Portland International Raceway, hold a detailed discussion about the No. 2 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe and have an open question and answer forum. Lunch will be served to all visitors.
The SRT Division of Chrysler specializes in factory performance upgrades for key Chrysler vehicles that run both on the street and race track. SRT created the Dodge Viper SRT10, the Magnum and Charger SRT8s and Caliber-based SRT4 for Dodge, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 for Jeep and the 300C SRT8 for Chrysler. The most recent vehicle to be tuned by Chrysler’s in-house performance arm is the eagerly anticipated Dodge Challenger SRT8. Race variants of the Dodge Viper also standout in the SRT portfolio with the recently announced Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR street-legal race car and the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe that competes not only in the World Challenge but the American Le Mans Series GT2 class and throughout Europe as well.
Lux, one of the top female road racers in the country, raced to two Piloti Rookie of the Race Awards and two top-11 finishes in ’07. The program is scheduled for a limited season in 2008 with two Lux Performance-prepared Dodge Viper Competition Coupes in World Challenge GT.
Quotes
* *Cindi Lux:
“When I look at these guys with their cool cars and their passion toward motorsports, I see myself several years ago. They are hungry to learn more about cars and track day events. If we can help share some of the information we have learned over the years in racing to these SRT owners who truly love the Dodge brand; that is what this day is all about. It’s also a lot of fun for everyone at Lux Performance and NayKid Racing to open our doors. This is an opportunity that the Dodge, MOPAR and SRT guys don’t get everyday and that we don’t get to do as often as we’d like.”
Randy Cox, Northwest SRT * Club Organizer:* “This event is very special to the SRT Owners Club. To be included in seeing race cars, teams and the people you look up to in motorsports is far more than anyone could expect just from buying a car. This event is more than a meet-and-greet though. It teaches owners how their car works, why it does what it does and what parts help it work better. It also introduces them to a great group of friends and racers that know and understand how they feel about their car. It is just like having a pro basketball player come and talk to an upcoming high school or college team.”
