LONG BEACH, CA., USA – Drayson Racing has again embraced the online community with the creation of its own Flickr location; www.flickr.com/groups/draysonracing/. Flickr, a free online photo management tool, allows the general public to post and make accessible their images. Like the UK-based, LMP1 team’s other web-based initiatives before it - www.draysonracing.com, www.youtube.com/user/DraysonRacing007 and www.twitter.com/DraysonRacing - the new Flickr account offers followers a unique link to the international sports car racing team and its drivers Paul Drayson (London/Gloucestershire, UK), Jonny Cocker (Guisborough, Yorks, UK) and Emanuele Pirro (Rome).

Flickr permits group members to upload digital photographs of the Drayson Racing entry from any event in any series and any year that Drayson Racing has been competing, allowing a far more comprehensive archive of photos. These images will be visible to all Flickr members and visitors further enforcing the already strong world-wide bond of Drayson Racing fans with one-another and the team itself.

Further adding to the value of Flickr is the site’s “Discussion” section. Members are able to talk about any range of topics not only regarding the posted images but on-track action, Drayson Racing activity and more. It is the first, Drayson Racing-only “forum” available on the web.

Flickr follows the long-standing fan gallery at www.draysonracing.com. The team web site had hosted the gallery – on which amateur racing photographers would post their work – since the inception of Drayson Racing. However, with the move to the LMP1 class in 2009, the popularity of the team had made the fan gallery grow beyond its already heavy interest. In order to continue to provide an open gallery for fans, Drayson Racing sought an alternative option that would provide the same communal nature and access while offering an unlimited opportunity for photographers to post their favourite Drayson Racing photographs.

Members will only need to sign-up for a free Flickr account and join the Drayson Racing Group. They can then begin posting up to three images per day of the Drayson Racing Lola Coupé with Judd Power from 2009/2010 or its GT predecessors. On-track action shots, on-site paddock images, driver headshots and any tasteful image relating to Drayson Racing are welcome on the site.

www.flickr.com/groups/draysonracing/ is currently online and receiving postings.

Quotes

Tom Moore, VP of Marketing and Communications: “It is the goal of Drayson Racing to reach out to motor sport fans the world-over. The new Flickr site, created in conjunction with our branding partner The Seen®, is a tremendous asset in that ambition. The beauty and performance of the Drayson Racing Lola-Judd has created an unprecedented number of images inundating draysonracing.com from all over the world. Interest in our online gallery has developed so substantially in recent months that it has outgrown our ability to fairly manage it. We see this as a fantastic way to continue with a popular feature and expand it even further. I am especially excited to see the discussions which will be generated on Flickr.

We appreciate everyone who has posted images in the past. While we are disappointed we cannot transfer all of those images over we hope Flickr will provide an even better stage to show the work of all the Drayson Racing supporters. We are all looking forward to the great images and discussions that will be generated there.”
