Bryan Sellers Statement on GRAND-AM-ALMS Merger

&car; BRASELTON, Ga., September 5, 2012 – The following is a statement by Bryan Sellers regarding the merger of the GRAND-AM and American Le Mans Series (ALMS) professional sports car racing series. The Braselton, Ga.-resident currently competes as a “works” driver for Falken Tire in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón driving the No. 17 Team Falken Tire Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. In addition, Sellers races the No. 46 BCKSTGR/Fall-Line BMW M3 in the GRAND-AM-sanctioned Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC). The former open-wheel racing champion is a two-time podium-finisher in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and regular competitor in the GRAND-AM GT class.&car;

&car; Bryan Sellers: “As a driver, you always want an opportunity to race in the very best car, in the very best series and on the very best tracks. While there are still a lot of questions to answer over the next year, I think we might have just heard today the start of that. Like everyone involved, I am full of nervous anticipation of what the future holds. However, I do hope, and believe, that the leaders of both organizations have put us on the path to a stronger future. A path that will see a lot of growth potential and put endurance sports car racing in front of an even greater audience. &car;

&car; I regularly run in both series and I can tell you that both have a lot of strengths and a few weaknesses. I hope that by combining we will see the positives grow stronger and the weaknesses diminish. I think, if combined in the right way, we can really see the two groups join as one in a very complementary way. &car;

&car; My greatest concern right now, and the thing that is at the front of my mind, are all the great people associated with the American Le Mans Series and in the GRAND-AM organization – the sanctioning bodies, the teams, the drivers, the manufacturers, the marketing partners, everyone involved – that are wondering about their future. These people are friends, they are family, and so your heart worries for them. In the end, I think this will be a good thing for the sport and for the fans. It might be a rocky start but I hope everyone will stick with us. I think the best sports car racing is yet to come.”&car;
