Bryan Sellers Talks About The Perfect 10
Falken Tire Driver Instructs You Through the TUDOR Championship’s Best Corners
SEBRING, Florida, March 18, 2015 – A perfect “10” may be hard for you to find but Bryan Sellers knows exactly where his is. The Braselton, Georgia-resident need look no further than this weekend’s 63rd Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. Nestled in the 3.74-mile, 17-turn Sebring International Raceway is what the driver of the No. 17 Team Falken Tire Porsche 911 RSR is looking for: Turn 10! Renowned for not only the strip of pavement but its zealous fan base, Turn 10 is Sellers’ pick for the “Best Corner” at the legendary facility in central Florida. Saturday, March 21, he and teammates Wolf Henzler (Germany) and Patrick Long (Manhattan Beach, California) will search to better their top-five performance of a year-ago in the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
Drive Through Sebring International Raceway’s Turn 10 with Bryan Sellers: “In my opinion, Turn 10 is the best corner at Sebring. It combines some of my favorite things about a racetrack. It is a technically difficult corner because it is so line specific. If you are off the right line by a little bit it has a huge effect on grip levels. But, if you get it correct it has a great rhythm and good grip. It feels really good when you get it right and we have done a lot of testing here with the Team Falken Tire Porsche 911 RSR to get it right. Braking is also extremely important. There is a lot of lap time to be gained or lost. Because it is a slower speed corner you can trail the brakes a long way into the corner to help your braking ability as well as help the turning capabilities of the car. To finish the corner off it is extremely important to get a good exit. However, there are a lot of things fighting against you and that is where the challenge is. There is a big bump exiting the corner that you have to balance the throttle over to not upset the car. Then there is the significance of the turn itself to the rest of the lap. The exit of Turn 10 leads immediately into the entrance to Turns 11a- and 11b, meaning you must be aware of car placement while you exit the corner. For me, a good turn is a hard turn. You only need courage to run the fast corners. It is the slower turns that challenge your skill as a driver and the setup of the car. At Sebring, Turn 10 is that and more. That’s why I love it.”
