Season Wrap Party on the Bayou; Lux Performance Takes on The Big Easy

Cindi Lux and Steve Streimer Closeout a Season of Trans Am Wins and Lessons Learned

Avondale, Louisiana, October 7, 2015 – Want to celebrate a great year of wins and lessons learned? No better place than New Orleans where the party is usually followed by knowing better next time! Lux Performance Group, LLC hopes to close its premier season in the Trans Am Series with one final win – and maybe learn a few more lessons – at NOLA Motorsports Park, October 9-11. As the team enters the final race of its partial inaugural season in “America’s Road Racing Series”, Cindi Lux (Aloha, Oregon) driving the No. 45 Lux Performance Group Dodge Viper ACR-X, and Steve Streimer (Sherwood, Oregon) in the No. 42 Viper, are each chasing additional TA3i class victories and the Aloha, Oregon-based program a third one-two finish of the year this weekend at the new track in the “Big Easy”-area.

The 2015 “Return to the Road Tour” was intended to get the Fred Lux-managed race company back into the rhythm of national-level racing… and it did just that. The operation acquainted itself well campaigning America’s V10-powered supercar in tight competition taking two first-place and second-place finishes, three victories (two for Streimer and one for Lux) and two pole positions in four starts – Lux had only three starts missing the first race of the year with a torn meniscus in her left knee. Sunday’s 100-mile championship finale is a late addition to the schedule as a final tune-up for the 2016 season.

The V10-powered Vipers will enjoy four test sessions on Thursday, October 8 with official practice starting at 10:45 a.m. Central Time (CT) on Friday. Qualifying for the two-car team will come in the TA3i class “Fast Five” session at 4:10 p.m. the same day. The second practice will take place on Saturday at 10:20 a.m. Sunday’s 100-mile/37-lap or 70-minute race will take the green flag at 12:45 p.m.

Quotes

Fred Lux, Lux Performance Group Team Principal: “Originally, we had planned to get in four starts and call it a season. Then we heard there would be a party down here in New Orleans so we figured we’d come visit during hurricane season to see what that is all about. This place is a complete unknown to everyone so that should give us an even playing field. It looks like an interesting track with a lot of straightaway for the Viper to stretch out. We’ll see where we are at the end of the day. This will add one more set of data for us to take home and over-analyze this winter.”

Cindi Lux: “It’s kind of hard to think about the last race of the season. Where did the summer go? Going into our final race, it’s certainly been a character-building year. The team has done a great job prepping two reliable Vipers for a partial season of Trans Am. Going to a new track is always something that I really enjoy. Personally, for this weekend, I just want to get a great result that will allow us an excuse to go party with the team! Finish off the year on a high-note. It may be a little early for Mardi Gras but the band is ready to go!”

Steve Streimer: “Six weeks is long enough! It is time to get back into the number 42 Lux Performance-prepared Dodge Viper. Having never been to NOLA Motorsports Park or even Louisiana for that matter, I am really looking forward to the added challenge of learning a new track, qualifying and racing all in the same weekend. Getting a chance to visit New Orleans with my good friends at Lux Performance will be icing on the cake.”
